West Hollywood's Summer 2026 Opening Wave, Sorted By Which Street You Live On

Something like ten new rooms have opened, relaunched, or been announced in West Hollywood since March. If you already live here, the list itself is not the story. The story is that the openings sort neatly into two piles, and which pile a place belongs to tells you almost everything about how you should use it.

Santa Monica Boulevard is getting neighborhood infrastructure. Sunset Strip is getting destinations. The distinction is worth internalizing before you make your next Friday reservation.

The Santa Monica Boulevard openings serve the block

The clearest example is Laurel Supply, which opened May 8 at 8445 Santa Monica Boulevard from Dean McKillen and Phil Howard, the same operators behind Laurel Hardware at 7984 Santa Monica and Ysabel a few blocks south. Everything about the site, from its ownership to its address, is oriented toward people who already walk past it.

Two miles east at 8869 Santa Monica Boulevard, Berni Gambino's Sweetwater soft-opened during Pride weekend as an all-inclusive LGBTQ+ bar and nightclub with two bars, a front patio, and a dance floor programmed for DJs and live music through the week. The address matters for a specific reason:
